DAY 1 – MONDAY, MAY 13TH

FLIGHT TO ISRAEL

Flights are not included in this tour package, so we will work with you to choose an overnight flight that works well with this package. If you decide to arrive early to enjoy Tel Aviv, we can also help with your pre-tour hotels and transfers.

DAY 2 – TUESDAY, MAY 14TH

ARRIVAL – TEL AVIV

Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport – A representative will meet you outside of baggage claim, depending on your arrival time.

Transfer to hotel – Check in, unpack, relax, and unwind. (Please note: hotels do not begin check-in until 3:00 pm on weekdays, so you may have to wait if your rooms aren’t ready when you arrive. Talk to your travel agent about options for early arrivals.)

Old Jaffa – Time permitting, we will make a stop in the historic neighborhood of Old Jaffa. The schedule is subject to change depending on arrival times.

Lunch on your own in Tel Aviv

DAY 3 – WEDNESDAY, MAY 15TH

COASTAL PLAIN – TOURING

Caesarea National Park – Explore ancient palaces built for King Herod, a theater and hippodrome, a historic port, and other Roman-era archaeological wonders, including the Promontory Palace with its well-preserved mosaic floor. This is one of Israel’s best-loved archaeological sites, its waterfront location, and many galleries and restaurants mean there’s something here for everyone to enjoy.

Mukhraka (Mount Carmel) – Sometimes called the Horn of the Carmel, Jews, Christians, and Muslims believe this site to be the location of the battle between Elijah and the prophets of Baal. This is also the location of the Monastery of the “Place of Burning” and contains fantastic views overlooking the hills of Lower Galilee.

Tel Megiddo – A UNESCO World Heritage Site noted for its well-preserved archaeological remains of early Canaanite and Israelite cities. A museum within the park uses models to recreate some of the historical structures which once stood there. This unique site is also thought to have seen more battles than anywhere else worldwide.

Mount Arbel – Nearly vertical limestone cliff with astounding views of the Galilee and Golan regions. This mountain nature reserve has awe-inspiring observation points, hiking trails, and archaeological wonders from as far back as the Second Temple period. Continue to your hotel and check-in.

DAY 4 – THURSDAY, MAY 16TH

GALILEE – TOURING

Private Boat Ride on the Kinneret – Cruise the beautiful Sea of Galilee and enjoy the scenic views and relaxing vibe aboard your private boat. Great for special events or just a quiet escape out on the water.

Yigal Allon Boat Museum – Home of the “Jesus boat,” a fishing boat dating back to the time of Jesus.

Capernaum – Known as one of the three cities cursed by Jesus for its lack of faith, this historic village along the coast of the Sea of Galilee is home to an ancient synagogue and church and gorgeous views of the sea and the surrounding area.
Mount of Beatitudes – This site is believed to be where Jesus met his apostles after his resurrection and possibly where he delivered the Sermon on the Mount. Today, it is home to a church and monastery built onto the hilltop overlooking the surrounding area, including the Sea of Galilee and numerous landmarks from the life and ministry of Jesus.

Magdala – The ancient port city is known as the hometown of Mary Magdalene. This town was once a center of trade and culture; it is home to one of only a handful of synagogues that have been discovered dating back to the time of Jesus.

Yardenit Baptismal Site – This lovely spot where the Sea of Galilee spills into the Jordan River commemorates the baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist in the Jordan River. It’s the perfect location for a baptismal ceremony, quiet prayer or reflection, or to enjoy the lovely scenery and tranquil atmosphere.

DAY 5 – FRIDAY, MAY 17TH

GOLAN HEIGHTS – TOURING

Tel Dan Nature Reserve – The perfect spot to take in all the beauty and splendor of the Golan Heights, this national park is home to the powerful Dan Spring (the source of the Jordan River) and numerous babbling brooks and wading pools surrounded by lush forest. This site also contains archaeological remains from the Canaanite and Israelite periods, including a 5000-year-old city from the time of Solomon.

Caesarea Philippi – The ancient city where Jesus revealed to his disciples that he was the Messiah. This site overlooking the northern Jordan Valley is near the source of the Jordan River, surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife and providing some of the most beautiful scenery in Northern Israel.

Mount Bental – Fascinating lookout over Syria, where you can take in the panoramic views and see the old military bunkers used during the battle for the Golan during the Yom Kippur War.

DAY 6 – SATURDAY, MAY 18TH

JORDAN VALLEY – TOURING

Nazareth Village – A recreation of the village of Nazareth from the time of Jesus. You’ll learn about first-century farming life and experience how a first-century audience would have received Jesus’s words while immersing yourself in the culture and spirit of Jesus’s hometown.

Mount Precipice – Just outside Nazareth, this is the hilltop mentioned in the Gospel of Luke, where the angry mob threatened Jesus after he announced that he was the Messiah.

Beit She’an – A national park filled with archaeological remains from throughout the region’s entire history. View the wall that used to surround the ancient city, a Roman temple, ancient public baths, and more.

DAY 7 – SUNDAY, MAY 19TH

JERUSALEM – TOURING

Dead Sea – Float in the hypersaline water and enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime experience of weightlessness in the mineral-rich water at the lowest spot on earth.

Masada – After ascending to the top of this mountain fortress via cable car (options for hiking), you’ll explore the fascinating remains of King Herod’s palace, including the Roman-style bathhouse and the ancient storerooms and watchtowers. Here you’ll learn about the significance of the site and the heroic story of the revolt and siege on the fortress.

Qumran National Park – This archaeological site contains the caves in which the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Though the scrolls themselves are on display at the Israel Museum, a quick visit to Qumran will highlight the historical and archaeological significance of the site.

Camel Excursion at Genesis Land – Prepare for a biblical adventure on four knobby-kneed legs. You’ll come away from the ride with a new appreciation for these majestic beasts of burden (not to mention some great photo opportunities).

DAY 8 – MONDAY, MAY 20TH

JERUSALEM – TOURING

Mount of Olives – A prominent mountain adjacent to Jerusalem with arguably the best views of the Old City. This site contains numerous landmarks of religious significance for Jews, Christians, and Muslims, making it a particularly fascinating spot to discuss the holy city of Jerusalem and its role in these traditions.

Garden of Gethsemane – Located at the foot of the Mount of Olives and known as the site where Jesus prayed on the night of his betrayal and arrest, this site holds great religious significance for Christians worldwide.

Church of St. Anne – One of the Old City’s best-preserved structures, this Crusader-era church stands over the site of the crypt where the Virgin Mary was born. Earlier churches had stood on the same site dating back to the Roman period, and the current structure survived several conquests of Jerusalem that saw the destruction of a number of churches.

Pools of Bethesda – Part of an underground system of reservoirs located in Old City, where Jesus is believed to have performed a healing miracle on a paralyzed man.

Lithostrotos – Uncover this fascinating archaeological site believed to be the pavement where Jesus stood before Pontius Pilate during his trial. Walk in the footsteps of history, marvel at the ancient Roman gameboards etched into the flagstones, and explore the underground water reservoir.

Church of the Holy Sepulcher – At the end of the Via Dolorosa is this beautiful fourth-century Byzantine church built where Jesus was believed to be crucified, buried, and resurrected. The church has been a beacon for Christian pilgrims from all over the world since its construction.

DAY 9 – TUESDAY, MAY 21ST

JERASULEM – TOURING

Temple Mount (Haram ash-Sharif) – The location of the destroyed First and Second Temples (the epicenter of Jewish ritual life). Today this spot is home to the Dome of the Rock and Al-Aqsa Mosque. This is also where Jews, Christians, and Muslims all believe Abraham offered to sacrifice Isaac, marking the beginning of monotheism. Entrance to this ultra-sensitive site is strictly regulated, and modest dress is required. (expect long lines through security; entrance is not guaranteed).

Western Wall Tunnels – A fascinating walk through ancient subterranean spaces with exquisite archeological findings, such as large stone arches, water pits, an ancient aqueduct, and more. The tunnels allow visitors unique access to the vast segments of the Western Wall that have been hidden from view for over 2000 years.

Jewish Quarter – A walking exploration of the rich history and culture of the Jewish people through the many fascinating historical, archaeological, and religious landmarks in the Old City, including the Cardo, the Broad Wall, the many synagogues and yeshivas, and the Western Wall.

Mount Zion – Just outside the walls of the Old City, this hilltop is home to several significant historical and religious sites, including the Room of the Last Supper (the Cenacle) and King David’s Tomb. Looking out over the Old City, you will have an opportunity to get an understanding of how
the three major religions of Jerusalem intertwine.

Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu – Built on the eastern slope of Mount Zion, this church is also known as the House of Caiaphas. Commemorating St. Peter’s denial of Jesus and subsequent repentance, the church also contains a dungeon built below ground where it is believed Jesus was detained the night following his arrest.

DAY 10 – WEDNESDAY, MAY 22ND

JERUSALEM – TOURING

Yad Vashem – Israel’s official Holocaust memorial site and the definitive source for Holocaust education, documentation, and research. Learn about and pay tribute to the victims of the Holocaust, Jews who fought their Nazi oppressors, and non-Jews who aided the victims of the Nazi Regime.

Israel Museum – Featuring a display of the famous Dead Sea Scrolls and the most extensive holdings of biblical and Holy Land archaeology in the world.

Shopping Time in the Old City Market – Here, you can find everything from produce and homemade scarves to ceramics and hand-woven rugs as you wander through the narrow alleyways of this historic area. You’ll get lost in a sea of fragrant aromas, beautiful fabrics, and the voices of shopkeepers in this fascinating market.

DAY 11 – THURSDAY, MAY 23RD

SHEFLA – TOURING

The Garden Tomb – A beautiful and serene garden many Christians believe to be where Jesus was buried and resurrected. Immerse yourself in the tranquil environment or enjoy a solemn prayer in the peaceful landscape.

Herodion National Park (Herodium) – Contains impressive architectural displays from the time of King Herod, including a stunning palace, a walled fortress, and numerous other remaining structures, such as Herod’s tomb and a large amphitheater. Walk around the ruins and enjoy some fantastic views of Jerusalem from the nearby Judean Hills.

Elah Valley – Recount the epic victory of David over Goliath as you look out over the stunning valley where the mighty battle between the Israelites and the Philistines took place.

For those finishing their tour here, you will be transferred to Ben Gurion Airport (flights not included), and for those continuing to Jordan, the second part of your tour begins today (see Optional Jordan Tour Extension itinerary below for details of day 12).

Early breakfast at the hotel and check out. 

8:00 am: Transfer to the Allenby Border – Your driver will meet you just outside your hotel lobby and take you to the border, where you will be assisted with the formalities of crossing into Jordan. Your guide will meet you on the Jordanian side to begin your Jordan excursion.

Mount Nebo – Thought to be the mountain ridge where Moses stood, saw the Promised Land, and lived out the days of his life. The spot has been a pilgrimage site since the Byzantine Period and is currently the home of a Franciscan Monastery. On the mountain ridge today, visitors can still peer into the distance and see the Holy Land.

Madaba – A city best known for its famous 6th-century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land and its spectacular Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics. A visit to St. George’s church is a must.

Tour of Petra – A local guide will lead your tour through this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The Siq – At the gateway to the lost city, you’ll see monuments, carvings, and inscriptions that underscore the historical and archaeological significance of the site.

The Treasury – The most famous monument in all of Jordan, this intricately carved rock façade highlights the technological and architectural sophistication of the Nabataeans.

Rose-Red City – Your tour will take you through this remarkable site’s major landmarks, including the Theater, the Dam, the many tombs and monuments, the Street of Façades, and more.

The Monastery – Located within the Petra Archaeological Park, this grand monument is every bit as impressive as the Treasury, if slightly less accessible. Inside and out, this is certain to be one of the highlights of your Petra tour.

Wadi Rum – Your visit to this protected site will include stops at a number of landmarks associated with Lawrence of Arabia, such as Khazali Canyon and the Seven Pillars of Wisdom. You’ll also enjoy a jeep tour through spectacular desert landscapes, imposing rock formations, and red sand dunes.

Enjoy the beautiful landscape views on your scenic drive.

Camel Excursion – A desert adventure on four knobby-kneed legs through the stunning landscapes of Wadi Rum. You’ll come away from the ride with a new appreciation for these majestic beasts of burden (not to mention some great photo opportunities).

Lunch at Wadi Rum local restaurant is included.

Amman – On your tour of Jordan’s capital city, you’ll encounter artistic, cultural, historical, and archaeological treasures in a fantastic fusion of the ancient and modern worlds. Check out some of the best museums in the Middle East, ruins of palaces and ancient cities from thousands of years ago, and many more places of interest along the way. Be sure to leave plenty of time to wander the ancient Citadel, the many archaeological sites preserved there, and the grand theater of ancient Roman Philadelphia and the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts.

General Information

  • This is not a guaranteed tour departure at this time. We recommend that you hold off on purchasing flights at this time until we confirm sufficient participation to make this tour happen at the projected cost point.
  • The final transfer on the Israel tour to Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) is not being refunded directly but is factored into the pricing for this tour extension.

Terms and Conditions

The following is a copy of the terms and conditions for this journey. You will need to agree to these terms and conditions during the booking process. Please read these now as they may answer most if not all questions you may have regarding this tour.

This agreement is made with Globe Getaways LLC, hereafter referred to as the Host Travel Agency. The Host Travel Agency is your primary contact and sales agent.

The Host Travel Agency has contracted with Dekel Israel Tours, LTD., hereinafter called the Tour Operator, to arrange and manage tour operations in Israel. The Tour Operator acts only as an agent for the various companies, owners, or contractors providing the means of transportation, accommodation, and other services. All exchange orders, coupons and tickets are offered subject to the Terms and Conditions under which such services are offered or provided. The issuance and acceptance of such tickets.

Enrollment in and payment of your deposit for the tour constitutes your acceptance of the conditions and statement of responsibility listed herein.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Israel is not ADA compliant, and many tour sites require significant walking on uneven ground, up and down hills, and uneven stairs. To fully participate in and enjoy this tour, you must be in an adequate physical condition to walk 3-5 miles in a day under these conditions. The group’s pacing is consistently robust, with very full and active days, early hotel departures on most mornings, and possible evening activities. Little free time may be available for rest and rejuvenation. Travel within the destination may be taxing, including extended motorcoach time and numerous active walking tours. By accepting this agreement, you certify that all travelers listed in this submission meet the physical requirements of the journey. If any in your party cannot keep pace with the group, you understand the group leader/host will recommend alternatives, including missing significant portions of the itinerary and additional costs to accommodate your party’s needs. You understand the need to comply with the directions of the group leader/host. You will not hold Globe Getaways LLC responsible for any portions of the missed itinerary due to your party member’s physical condition.

INCLUSIONS & EXCLUSIONS: Please see your group’s list of inclusions and exclusions in the tour description on the globegetaways.com website. While we do our very best at making sure all items listed in your itinerary are included, there are times when conditions beyond our control affect your program/itinerary, including but not limited to air carrier changes, delays, weather, political climate, time constraints, or changes by your tour leader and tour guide. You accept that you are financially responsible when these changes incur additional charges.

ACCOMMODATIONS: Price is based on double occupancy (two people sharing a room). When available, single rooms are often smaller than doubles. There will be a single-room supplement charge. refer to the group information page for single supplement charges. Our tour operator partner in Israel reserves the right to change any hotel listed with one of a similar category if circumstances necessitate. Additional expenses, if any, shall be borne by the passenger.

ITINERARY and CHANGES: Accommodations and meals beyond those stated in the published itinerary and any associated taxes and hotel porterage charges are not included. If arriving early or leaving late either through planned flights or deviations in flights due to situations outside the control of Globe Getaways LLC, there are no provisions made to accommodate guests and their extra travel plans. Globe Getaways LLC can assist traveling guests at current market rates for accommodations and transportation; however, if flight changes are required as a result of flight cancellations and delays after beginning travel, your first line of support should be with the airline, which will often offer resources to accommodate your needs as a result of flight changes. If you are delayed beyond the scheduled tour departure from the first hotel, the cost of joining the already underway tour is not included in this package. While we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your enjoining the en route tour, any associated costs are the guest’s responsibility. Globe Getaways LLC and its partners understand that changes to the itinerary may occur at any time up to and during the journey. In the event of an itinerary change, guests will be notified within 48 hours of the change via the registered email address for the primary traveler or in person at the beginning or during the tour. The Host Travel Agency reserves the right to change out our designated faith leader as needed.

FLIGHTS: Flights are not included in the price; however, we are happy to assist you with flight planning. Please be aware that you must arrive in Tel Aviv (TLV) by the published tour time and depart after the published tour departure time. Arrivals or departures outside of the arrival and departure group times, you will be responsible for the cost of any additional hotel nights needed as well as your transportation to or from the airport. We will be happy to help facilitate reservations as desired for pre-tour or post-tour stays. Globe Getaways LLC is not responsible for delayed, canceled, or modified flights; you are solely responsible for private transportation to join the group. If you miss a portion of the tour due to flight delays, cancellations, or schedule changes, there are no refunds on portions of the tour missed as a result.

PASSPORTS & VISAS: You must ensure you can legally visit Israel and furnish all necessary passports, visas, and any other documents required for leisure travel to and from Israel. If you are required to pay any immigration fees and/or taxes, this is your sole responsibility. At the time of writing, all passengers require a valid passport for at least six months beyond the final travel date for travel to and from Israel and/or Jordan. US Citizens do not require a visa for Israel but do need one for Jordan if you are adding the optional Jordan extension. Dekel Tours will assist in the process of acquiring the necessary visa for visas to Jordan, but guests take primary responsibility for all costs, including any required legal assistance if necessary. All those visiting Israel and Jordan with passports from any country other than the US may visit www.projectvisa.com for a list of countries requiring a visa to enter Israel. If visiting other countries in route or returning from Israel, you must verify your visa requirements.

PAYMENTS: All prices are in USD, and payments must be made promptly—failure to pay on time risks cancelation without a deposit refund. Payment of the deposit implies your acceptance of all terms and policies in this document.

DEPOSITS: A good faith, non-refundable trip deposit of $640 (Israel Only) or $860 (Israel & Jordan) is required from each participant to confirm group participation. All deposits are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable. Please refer to the cancellation fee section for details on the refundability of deposits.

PAYMENT DATES: Your deposit, as outlined above, is due at the time of booking. A second payment of $1700 (Israel Only) or $2300 (Israel & Jordan) is due on or before November 16th, 2023. A final payment of $1700 for (Israel Only) or $2300 (Israel & Jordan) is due on or before February 8th, 2024. Additional charges will be disclosed at the time of booking for a single supplement charges and other charges as applicable.

SPLITTING ROOMS WITH OTHER PARTIES: If you decide to book with another party and split a room to avoid a single supplement charge, you understand that you are responsible for single supplement costs if the other party cancels.

CANCELLATION FEES FOR TRIPS CANCELLED BY PARTICIPANTS: All cancellations must be received in writing. The initial deposit is non-refundable and will be retained as a service fee for all cancellations. For cancellations OVER 90 days before arrival, all fees minus the non-refundable deposit will be refunded. For cancellations between 46-90 days before arrival, 50% of the total trip costs are refundable. Cancellations 45 or fewer days before arrival – no refunds are possible.

FORCE MAJEURE: If the tour must be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, the cancellation fees may be up to the amount previously paid and therefore it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that you acquire travel insurance to cover these expenses.

NO SHOW FEES: If you do not show up for the tour, regardless of the reason, there are no refunds. We recommend travel insurance to cover the unexpected.

LATE ARRIVAL, EARLY DEPARTURE, AND EXTRA TRANSPORTATION FEES: If you arrive late for the tour, must leave early, or require a deviation from the standard tour, regardless of the reason, you are wholly responsible for any additional transportation fees, accommodations, or any other costs. There are no refunds for the portion of your journey missed.

FLIGHT ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES: You will be provided appropriate flight arrival and departure times for the tour and extension. Arrivals and departures outside of this window require additional fees for transfers. This includes arrivals due to flight delays and there are no refunds for the included group transfer.

STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY: Globe Getaways LLC and its associated partners agree to provide the itinerary described in the published itinerary or a comparable itinerary as logistical and security situations may dictate. This represents the entire agreement between the passenger and his agent, the travel agent, the tour host, and the tour operator. All prices, itineraries, and schedules are subject to regulations and charges by acts of government, international agreement, and airline tariff adjustments, rules, and regulations. Globe Getaways LLC reserves the right to revoke travel to anyone who is, in the sole judgment of Globe Getaways LLC, incapable of group travel. Except for the willful negligence of its direct employees, the tour operator assumes no liability or responsibility for any injuries, inconveniences, illness, irregularity, or incidental damages caused by circumstances beyond the control of the tour operator or by a person or reason whatsoever; including, but not limited to, events such as strikes, revolts, wars, terrorist strikes, natural disasters, closures or airports or hotel, default or omission of any common or private carrier, or the fault, negligence, or omission of and by any third party providing services or facilities related to, or included in, this tour or any part thereof, or in arranging for the same, or the acts or omissions of the travel agent or the tour host.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY: By traveling on this tour, you affirm that you are fit to participate in this tour and accept all risks to you and your traveling companion’s safety and health. All Travel involves risks, and travel to some countries, including Israel, involves a heightened risk to your health and safety, including risks from terrorism, acts of war, criminal acts, and illness. You understand and freely accept these risks, and you generally and specifically release and hold harmless the Host Travel Agency and the Tour Operator, as well as their officers, agents, partners, and employees from any liability and any claims for: (i) any physical, mental, emotional or other injuries whatsoever that you may sustain related to this tour; (ii) delays, damages, illness, injuries, or death, or for the loss of or damage to property, from any cause (including negligence) and however occurring; and (iii) any accident, illness, injury, damage, sickness, loss of personal property, delay, or other injury or claim of any kind related to or arising from strikes, armed conflicts, social or labor unrest or strikes/work stoppages, war or acts of war, terrorism or terrorist acts, acts of God, mechanical or construction failures or difficulties, volcanic eruption, earthquake, disruption of advertised schedules, refusal of visas, or any other causes beyond their direct control.

COPYRIGHT: Unless explicitly denied in writing, the Host Travel Agency, may display and use any photographs from this tour including your likeness for advertising, display, website, and internet promotion at our discretion.

ENROLLMENT IN AND PAYMENT FOR THE TOUR CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THE CONDITIONS AND STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY. The conditions become a binding contract when your enrollment and payment are received and accepted by Globe Getaways LLC. Colorado law will be applicable to any dispute which arises out of/or concerns regarding this page or tour.

*While we do our very best to make sure all items listed in your itinerary are included, there are times when conditions beyond our control affect your program/itinerary, including but not limited to air carrier changes, delays, weather, political climate, time constraints, or changes by your tour leader and tour guide.
